scab of the sky

after that
moisty wind caress it
and go
optimists are born
and bred quietly

the lilac
gets closer
the alley
memories of cry
immodestly

relieved
shoots of plum tree
scatter,
run away from such a garden
masking your mouth and nose

it's all right
the time covering the sky
just now
is the last
evening glow

upside down
are the books
lining up,
grabbing them by claws
my eyes look out of windows

remains
a brick can
at a garbage post
do not hesitate or you'll get
drew in and deprived

many me
left the world
one after one
then all of them
got out of sight

SHELL HEAP

This work consists of 3 parts. Part one is continuity of tanka(5-7-5-7-7 sylablles), part two is choka, meaning "long song", spontaneous series of 5-7 sylablles and ends up with 7-7. Part three is hanka, one or more tankas to be placed after choka. This is my first translation of my own work. It may be said far from poetry, to say nothing of verse:

SHELL HEAP________________________NUMATANI, Kasumi

If you war with blust instrument you will get awful headache because of internal breeding of your brain.
And you can survive for the time being if you make a hole on your skull and get the blood out.

The memory melts the life mortally
There is a worm eating the wedding dress.

Big O, I was happy to live through the era
to search for myself -- no.

If you die with your body in pieces,
I promise you can be an ONI.
"oni" is a kind of Japanese traditional monster which has several meaning; it is said about one of them that death with too much anger and grudge makes the dead oni.

No teeth means torture
No head means execution
No bone means ?

Tell the reason for this qurrel.
(1)land. (2)lives. (3)favorite.

Once there was a people which never fight,
they have gone happily to the next world.

Trap for war?
It has been doing as popular as cats that lives in countryside.

A human body is a watefull baloon;
It dies getting out too much water
or it dies getting in too much water.

Tell the reason for the death.
(1)war. (2)disease. (3)feel like.

And bomb
and traffic accident
and desperate's end
and abuse
and......

There remains three strings like spaghetti;
drip, piss drain, and blood drain.

I hope I could die on tatami,
with my children, grand children,...
all around me.

Tell the preference of the day of your death;
(1)birthday. (2)favorite poet's death anniversary. (3)today.

There had been digged up, a couple of human bones hugging each other, the original in a glass box, a replica at the digged place, bones of one the middle aged male, the other a girl too young for him, from when they have been together? to when they will be together? the tomb not sturdy, meaning they are not high classed, common burial, meaning they shall be disappear into earth with no bone remained, -- Shellfish can be taken at this place, nowadays and at that time, -- In the midst of, huge shell heap, -- Now they on a hill far from mud flats, sunny land with dry cray, hugging loosely under the sun, who placed them for a case like this? left as only a shape of love, for tens of thousands of years remaining, -- the relationship of the two is not clear yet, explanatory plate shows simply, -- -- Beautiful human love and mind, is there any means to success it, for example tragedy, spending a place and two hours of words, played from time to time, for each time and audiences, giving a move of mind for each, when it is written it remains as a thing, maintained importantly in a storehouse, -- What about the lovable bones? only a shape remains as it is, there are no words, I am sure reasonlessly, the male must be died for the female, there may be a word "gassou" or burial together, one watch after and protect another, with the will for timelessly, he must buried himself with her, hugging the body which does never hug back, petting the head which never rise, protecting the face against the mud, he must be done like that.

hanka

Healthful dies after and after, accepting one who destroys us.

Against my will, I feed one worm of venom and one spirit inside me.

What force makes me survive and wait, dirtily remaining snow in May.

Helpless story, profitless words, it is amusing to put a word -- as a dream.
